Surviving Cold & Flu Season

Untitled Design.png

If I were to ask for a show of hands of who loves to watch their little ones with runny noses, congested and burning up due to a fever I’m almost positive not one hand would be raised. The truth is, as parents we hate to see our littles in a state of helplessness. Unfortunately, cold and flu season is among us and despite our disinterest it shows it’s ugly head without fail.

Landon and Owen both were visited by a cold this season and these products really helped. Owen got a double dose when cold like symptoms due to teething resurfaced about a week ago. We are still working through it but here is a rundown of some products that are helping.

Hyland’s baby: cough syrup

Natural ingredients, perfect for little ones (comes with a syringe for measuring and distributing) so much easier than cups at this stage.

Hylands: All day syrup

Made with natural ingredients (cane sugar and honey) worked well for cough and he liked the taste too.

Be Kool: Fever Patch

I was honestly the type that felt a cool washcloth was sufficient but the older Landon got the less compliant he was to having something on his forehead, but with these patches they have cute characters on them and the fact that they sick make it much easier!

Lypsyl: Extreme cold sore relief

When the weather changes everything tends to change with it, lips more prone to being dry, cracking, and cold sores. Luckily we haven’t had to worry about this but if you have older children or for yourself this is a great product to try.

J.R Watkins: Bath soak

Whether it’s fighting a fever, cold or just needing to recoup after taking care of sick babes all day. This bath soak is the perfect blend of eucalyptus and lavender (which are both known for their soothing and healing properties)

Colds and flus without a doubt aren’t the most thrilling events of the season, but at least when they come you can be prepared. Have you tried these products before? If so, I’d love to know your experience with them. If not- stock up (most if not all are available at your local Walmart)
